July Update 2009

Hello Everyone

Well July has been fun and exciting at CCC.  Our trainers are busy training and trialing their dogs in obedience and agility.   I was looking over old emails and I came across an old email with a good website about different turns and such  in agility  http://www.abowden.teach-nology.com/agilityvideos.html

I thought it would help students out that need visual aids in learning.

Win updates

Shelly wallace competed in CWAGS event and did great with her dog Madison

Greta Marchus Competed in CABTC July agility trial and her and Snap got their NA title with a first place and she also got a 2nd leg in JWW with a fourth place finish

Bridget Telencio  competed in CABTC July agility trial on saturday Lance got 4th place in Excellent standard.  On sunday Lance got his 2nd double Q towards his MACH

We also have started our dock diving class and it is going great.  dogs all are swimming and most are jumping off dock!

June updates

Well May is over and June is halfway done all of us at CCC have been busy training and teaching!  Classes are going well and if you have suggestions to make it better please feel free to make them to us.
We hope to start some dock diving classes out in Geneva in July if we have enough of an inertrest  please email Bridget if you are at bridgettelencio@caninecareercenter.com
Now on to the fun part wins and brags

Greta & Snap

Two days of hunt tests and two legs toward Snap's Junior Hunter title.  For each leg, he must retrieve 2 ducks on land and 2 ducks out of water.  He must retrieve to hand to qualify and the ducks must not be damaged by the dog.  Although the dogs are scored, judges do not tell the scores......it is just done on a pass/fail grade but the dog must get at least a 7 out of 10 to qualify.

We have two more days of hunt tests next weekend.  I am marshalling and running Snap......have not done that before.  I have marshaled or ran a dog........we will see how many things I can do at once.  An even bigger brag for me is that the people I mentored qualified as well!!!!!   How great is that!!!   Eight more ducks and we are on our way to Senior.

Hi Girls, I finally have a brag or three.   Snap has one Novice Jumpers w/Weaves leg with a second place.  He did a 39 second course in 28.1 seconds.  He had a 5 point penalty because I did not bring my hand down fast enough and hand up means go out......my error.

The next day, those first placements continued to elude me.  He got a second place in Novice Standard on a 65 second course completing it at 50.6 seconds.  The teeter was an issue, I think I pushed him off of it by getting too close to him but it cost me a 5 point penalty again.

Third day of trials and we finally put it together even though that teeter kept us in the 95 point catagory.   He took first place in Novice Standard, doing a 65 second course in 45.8 seconds.

Do you think I was running my chubby bum off!!!    He was a blast to run.  His distance work was awesome for a green dog in his first trials.  His adverage speed in the ring was 28.3 miles per hour.  We were up at 4:30 AM three days in a row but it was worth it.  I was able to talk to old friends from years ago, met several new friends and really enjoyed myself.  Now we shift to the hunt fields for the next 2 weekends of trialing there.   I LOVE DOGS!!!

Cherrie and Billie

Today we got our 2nd RE leg! She was still too curious, but we got a red and a green ribbon, which is the color, GREEN, that I want! So tomorrow we will go back and try for our last leg.

Good luck to everyone out there competing!!

Tolly yours,
Cherie
